Rising cosmetic surgery: Natural looks simply can't compete any more
The number of cosmetic operations and treatments has risen by 92% in just two years, and is set to break the ‘1billion barrier next year.
Yes # There’s no relation between people’s body image and their interest in cosmetic surgery ‘ even those without a poor body image express interest in surgical alteration, pointing towards some other trends.
# Our society places a high value on looking young and good and while opportunity abounds looking good has become more important.
No # These people are lying to themselves. People sought plastic surgery because they were addressing some deep-seated psychological issues.
# It is the mass media and the Internet that has changed all this, people look at the trends there and think that they’re supposed to look like one of those.

It no longer competes because we are living in a looks-obsessed society. ppl judge ppl by how they look and it does stimulate one into looking good. Everyday we see music videos of Beyonce, Rihanna n JLo just to expect that our wife or GF look or resemble the perfect celebrity body and the same goes for the women. We all look at the images, the hoardings, around us and all of them only have the good looking faces. So it is no surprise to conclude that, to be successful, we gotta be good looking or sexy, what we call it these days also to club it with the famous formula – if you feel sexy, you feel confident. We all feel or are abt to feel tremendous pressure from this society that will pave the way for more of these surgically-enhanced bodies. Watch out ppl! And wat a shame we are no more proud of our individuality.

Men and women have been prepared to suffer for the sake of their appearance for centuries; it is not something that is here all of a suddenly. It has its deep roots but cosmetic treatments are increasingly popular because they are quicker and less painful but blaming it on our social structure would be appropriate. We are looking at our family members for guidance only to see them continually worrying about their own body shape and size. I can’t stand to accept that ppl are thinking that a body, clothes or face are enough or indeed more important than a brain and being well-balanced to succeed. It all just seems like attention-seeking has gone wrong.

Whether beauty is “in the eye of the beholder,” “skin deep” or “comes from within,” ultimately, it comes down to what beauty means to you.

Does good look really matter that too artificial? Well, I am on the other side of the issue. Handsome is not the handsome but the handsome that does handsome. What say? This is only for those who want to dodge others and above all themselves. Those who don’t look beyond your physical appearance are not worth having because there’s more than what meets the eye.

well this keeps people twice away from their real self… isn’t it? they are not the same in inner self and they’re not even what they are by appearance… ppl have become too disguised and fake to understand and i do agree that first impression matters the most but after that it’s all depend on yourself and personality as pretty face without personality and character is like lamp without oil… lolzzzzzz.

Cosmetic Surgeons has gone too far highlighting all the human imperfections they think they can capitalize on. They are reducing individuals who already have low self esteem even lower. Plastic surgery is a personal decision that we might make to enhance our appearance or how we feel about ourselves. There is no right or wrong, it is a personal choice. But I think this is the blasphemous science and above all the culture.

Some of the common reasons why a lot of women opt for cosmetic surgery:

1.They do it to attract men.
Husband chasing after a younger woman?

2.They do it to boost their career.
It’s easier to find a job if you are ”attractive.”

3.They do it for vanity.
I must have the perfect body.

4.They do it to look better than the neighbors.
They just have to look better than all their friends.

5.They do it too look like their favorite movie star.
Then their life will be glamorous and exciting too!

Yes good looks do matter… preferences change in choice making! average Joe doesn’t stand much of a chance against a handsome hunk… present time is a look freak era and one loses much to his counterpart who is a beau but even less intelligent and this criterion goes deeper than just romance. beautiful/handsome people treated with pleasure than those having average or below looks…

good looka a boon, intelligence added means you are a blessed one! look is the damn thing that one needs to be successful in life perhaps more than intellect! now technology adds to the those who are brilliant but not good looking and hence away from success… physical appearance comes first and and of course appealing to opposite sex, then if you are handsome you are a chosen one to have upper hand on your competitors.

Not at all, artificial beauty with cosmetic surgeries can never beat the natural beauty. Actually beauty is not based on the external looks like having a straight nose, nice eyes, fair color, good hairstyle and stuff but it’s how good your are from within(from your heart). If you take up competition where is the question of physical appearance if you are talented. Skill and talent has its own beauty. I mean to say that it’s not important how beautiful we are but it’s very important that we put our 100% in whatever we do. If we excel in our respective fields, definitely we will be an example for thousands, no mater how we look. People should concentrate more on their creative ideas rather than wasting time and money on this.

Real beauty comes from within. Although I have nothing against cosmetic or plastic surgery, I believe getting under the knife is certainly a big decision in life.

Many times I have heard the adage, ”No pain, no gain.” But certainly there are more pains in artificial beauty. Everything that is unnatural fades easily as one matures.

Cosmetic products or procedures like skin whitening or diamond peeling or some minor processes are okay. However, noselift, botox and other major body renovations are simply not works of art, but works of science.

If you are happy in enhancing your body parts, then go for it. Just don’t overdo it or you may end up damaging your God-given features.

You will for sure look elegantly in the first treatments. But as time goes by, you will realize that all artificial things have limitations.

Others glow more as they grow older. In your case, you will spend more as you get older to maintain your pseudo-beauty.
