What do you think, by throwing shoe at him you will make him to change the course of policies? No. He is a warrior of IMF.

The question is - ”Will it make a difference?” Journalists, who consider pen as their sword, are shoes becoming their next accord?

It is certainly an unethical practice on the part of a journalist. A journalist - whether print media, electrnic or citizen- should not be carried away by one’s emotions. Such outbursts of emotions mar objectivity which every journalist, worth salt, should preserve, come what may. Today it is a Sikh jopurnalist, aggrieved on account of the massacre of Sikhs way back in 1984, tomorrow it may be a Muslim journalist grudging the pogrom aimed at Muslims in Gujarat

Protest is a cornerstone for a Democracy; but getting physical is not a Democratic way for expressing/ underlining protest.
Chidambaram getting ”Bushed” is an entirely unwarranted retort on the part of the Journo and has perhaps only generated dramatic footage for the 24X7 News TV. Bottomline, this ’physical protest’ will not make any difference to the life and times of the 1984 riot victims.

It’s against the journalistic ethics. At least journalists can’t resort to violence. They have pen in their hands to express the resentment.

Journalist is a human being first who might have lost his near and dear ones in such riots. Its difficult to understand the pain that others go thru till the time one doesn’t face it himself.

Yes it is unethical for anyone to throw shoe on any political leader, no matter how angry he might be with the system. This is not the way to protest in a democracy. You can protest by burning yourself alive (Mandal commission) and still nothing changes. You can protest by strikes or lighting candles in the memory of the dead people (which doesn’t include relatives to the politicians) and no significant step is taken by the govt.
Today culprits of 1984 riots have got a clean chit, tomorrow one who were blamed for Ram mandir/Babri masjid dispute will get away easily, then Godhra, etc etc.
Only the citizens are meant to die, meant to risk their lives on streets against suicide bombers, meant to be beaten in public for drinking in pub. But politicians, no please don’t say them anything. They are the saviors of India and its citizens.
Every bill passed by them or decision taken by them are in our favor. Afterall we elected them.
So its my advice to the Sikhs, which will be applicable to hindu’s and the muslims tomorrow that if you want to protest against the clean chits given to our honorable ministers, please protest by burning yourselves. Earlier that was done on their instructions, now you do it yourself to get justice.
Please mark me down for this comment as well. Thanks!

Nothing original ever comes from India. A country of over billion people who can only copy.

For every cause, there has to be a reason. We all know that in India we don’t get an education to throw shoes on people unnecessarily. First try to understand the cause that made him do so instead of just blindly reacting to what he did. I have heard being a surd; his questions were constantly being ignored by the minister (because he could not justify govt’s decision).
Try to analyze things rather than being irrational in behavior.

However interesting and bold it could be,this at the end of the day does not change anything, other means would be more effective while expressing someone’s anger especially towards politicians, you throw shoes at them and they will dismiss you as stupid and desperate.

They have tried all other possible ways since 1984. Nothing works here.
Please suggest them a new idea :)
