Is Scientology a threat to the rule of law and democratic order?
# Germany’s federal and state interior ministers have declared the Church of Scientology unconstitutional, clearing the way for a possible ban.
# Critics accuse the organization of cult-like practices that exploit followers for financial gain and could pose a threat to the rule of law and “democratic order”.
# Scientologists rejecting this says that they promote a religion based on understanding of the human spirit and while they have a right to freedom of religion.
# Scientology is a self-help therapy that helps individuals by recalling negative experiences to free himself from repressed feelings that cripple his life.

This is totally against the secularism and nobody has the right to decide the religion for the others. Faith is not a slave to any legal bondage whatsoever and particularly with the reasons that moments’ structures and methods are threats to the democratic disorders, is disgusting. What a pity it’s to violate the democratic credentials to protect the same. Before giving the clarification on the subject, Germany has to decide whether it’s a democratic nation or not. If it’s a democracy, then both should exist otherwise neither. What say?

It seems that Germany has not yet shed its Nazi aspirations off. If it would have, there won’t be such questions at all. What for they wanna discard it after all… what are the problems when 10 years of surveillance has uncovered absolutely no wrongdoing. There is nothing wrong with the religion and in October, a Spanish court even ruled that the Church of Scientology of Spain should be re-entered into the country’s register of officially recognized religions. So, how about Germans prevailing common sense? Won’t be a bad idea at all!

it’s sheer discrimination… how could they do so! it is nothing but sheer an effort to justify the never-ending discrimination against the Church of Scientology and its members in Germany. How could they play with the religious feelings of the 10000 people who are living in Berlin or around! This is a question mark on the religious freedom of minorities in Germany… the so called propagator of democracy and freedom. huh!

scientology is a cult and as all the cults are one-dimensional while we live in a three-dimensional world these are as dangerous as drugs. Say no to all these cults if you don’t want your soul to get raped.

Its kind of funny when you look at it as a cult, but in fact it is no different from any other religion, including Christianity. but i have something to add depending upon the experiences and incidents that i see in the world around us...

Though Religion can be a great asset to life and help many people, as long as it does not become your reason for life. That being said, any ’religion’ that charges to learn the secret upper levels is not a religion, but a scam. If they in Germany think of banning it...i think the better idea will be to consider the goals of the Church of Scientology to be in conflict with the principles of the nation’s constitution”? how about the goals of Islam?

Christianity is a cult just as Scientology is and so are several other religions. Take off your rose colored glasses people.

In no way do I believe or support Scientology, however I’d like to read the whole press release, not an excerpt.

one more thing Scientology is evil, its members are mindless brainwashed drones. read the testimonials of those, who managed to break free. and one more thing...no orgies? what kind of a sick cult is this?

How anyone can put ban on any kind of religion or belief. We r living in 21st century and still not ready to accept these things. Scientology is just like chritainity, hinduism So I dont uderstand why Germany is going to put ban on it, well in a democratic country each and everyone can do whatever he want to do and choose any religion of their choice. Noone has any right to put ban on a particular thinking, belief, religion, faith.

Banning Scientology only creates the impression that Germany has no strong framework on its stand towards cultural diversity.

Laws have been enacted and guidelines are implemented for checks and balances. If the group is violating any law, then it shall be punished.

Don’t treat ordinary Germans as stupid people. They will know if they are being abused through their complaints and personal experiences.

Controlling what other people believe in is a simple way of dictatorship. Unless if there are cases of overthrowing the government, then Scientology should be abolished.

If scientology can be banned, then other religions too can be under threat. I don’t see any point in Germany becoming so intolerant towards one religion. Religions are a matter of personal choice and germany better know this. If banning will do anything, it will only make scientology more popular.
