Is Fashion industry solely responsible for the booming fur trade?
# The Paris Fashion Week 2007 showcased a wide variety of furs and skins from the top brands that turned out to be a hit.
# The annual IFTF survey shows that fashion-savvy consumers invested a massive USD 13.49 billion in fur for their wardrobes in 2006.
# The animal-skinned accessories fashion is striding upwards and its demand is soaring, mainly in Europe and America with sales registering a 35 per cent increase, in a year.
# Many of the fur-bearing animals are strikingly on the extinction but fashion industry argues that furs are now extensively grown on fur-farms.

Fashion industry is the part of the ’LIFESTYLE’ industry which is responsible for the booming fur trade. However, it can’t be solely marked for the fact.

Fashion has indeed driven many of us crazy for fur but it surely has taken to the fur farms....which might not be an extensive practice by now, but is surely seeing the light of the day!

We must also realize that it is WE who buy fur and skins without giving a second thought! If we won’t buy fur,why will fashion designers, marketeers or any other take to fur, or incorporate it in the designs!

CHARITY STARTS FROM HOME!!!!!:)

It may not be 100% responsible, but it is responsible.

And them the media which highlights the fashion shows organized by those stupid minded people who proud themselves with a thought that they have don tremendous job by contributing to unnecessary culture of similar glamor ridden heads, which live by snatching breath out of a lively creation of nature.

Does nature made us a part of system to witness the day of war for dominance on other parts?

Fur trade is exciting and has a true international tinge. Benefiting all, economies or not, right through its journey from origin to consumption. Fur has turned into a must-have item for all, even if it’s just a subtle trim on a collar or a cuff, if the fashion industry in the past had been about jewel-embedded clothing, now its all about fur and fur clothing alone. And why not, if the top-notch designer’s have it in their serving and Hollywood celebrities endorsing it. We have to realize and understand what the animal right activists have been piping for long – that’s of our behavior, and how we humans have been treating our furry friends for years. Killing innocent animal purely for its fur. The fashion that kicks our essence is instigating us – but it’s time to mark a halt on the executing of innocent and unnecessary lives for a fleeting trend in fashion.

Fur is no fashion accessory and should not be publicly promoted as acceptable. My friends on the other side are perhaps fashion conscious, therefore I have a few tip for them that would help them be fashion conscious and more animal conscious simultaneously.

• Please be a compassionate consumer and avoid fur.
• Not buying fur would make designers conscious and instigate them to use their talents in design rather than attempting to attract attention through inappropriate methods (you know what I mean).
• Speak out when you see fur or fur trimmed products.

Try out these and a few other little steps, and cut down on using fur – then the fashion industry wouldn’t have it and the use of fur will minimize to zilch, and then you will too comply that it is fashion and nothing else that is giving air to the act.
