# China has secretly built a major underground nuclear submarine base that could threaten Asian countries and challenge American power in the region.

# This is a challenge to any hegemonic power, particularly the US which still remains dominant in the region.

# China has argued that it has a right to protect itself and that it has no hostile intentions.

Deterrence plays a crucial role in international politics and we can see numerous examples of it in the international history. Deterring a nuclear attack by the capacity or threat of retaliating is the best way of defence. India is next in the line to follow China. Tough days ahead for the United states which dominates the Asian region.

China's stand on nuclear deterrence is always for total nuclear disarmament. we believes in complete prohibition of nuclear weapons. Chinese authorities do not believe in the concept of 'nuclear umbrellas' and the nations provide umbrellas to other countries. The country has never deployed any nuclear weapon outside its own territory. It has also been critical of showing nuclear deterrence against non-nuclear countries.

While I doubt China has any hostile intent, as far as I know, why do they feel they need Nuclear Submarines, if they desire a prohibition on Nuclear weapons?

Many in the U.S. see China more as an economical threat than a Military threat, currently.

I’d like to ask you, Jason, how would China carry out such a ”prohibition” on nuclear weapons? I would like to see them all gone too, but since the technology exists and we do have rogue governments, how would such a prohibition be enforced?
