Bush fanning ‘Iranophobia’ as propaganda for invasion

# US President George W Bush is hoping to gather support by rallying friends around the world to confront Iran.

# The Bush administration has notified the US Congress that it intends to go ahead with a major sale of sensitive military technology to Saudi Arabia.

# Bush said “Iran’s actions threaten the security of nations everywhere” and urged other countries to help the US “confront this danger before it is too late”.

# A recent US intelligence report positing that Iran suspended its nuclear weapons program in 2003 did not mean that Iran no longer poses a danger as IAEA expressed skepticism that Iran would come clean about its nuclear activities within the new time frame.

Bush is back doing what he is good at; creating false threats about a country. It was Iraq in 2003. Now it is Iran.
The Bush administration is finding it hard to digest the fact that Iran is aspiring to become a big player in the Middle East region.

Bush is breathing his last. There is no way US will go for another war, they’re not in a position to do so to be frank. Iran is three times bigger than Iraq and when they failed there, they can’t even dream of achieving success here. No way. Bush or his successors can’t afford to make another mistake with their credibility already on stake. It’s all losers’ rants, who’ll believe in it.

Iran is the threat to the world??? Whose peace does west speak of? Is peace only with those who already have the nuclear expertise and capacity to deliver it in any part of the world? What is the message that US wants to give to the world that only those who have monopoly on the nuclear arsenal have peace and no body else does. I have the arsenal that I would not allow anybody else to have. This ‘I’ is destroying the world peace and to justify the war on Islam with bogus rhetoric is inching the world towards vital conflict. This is abhorred narration and more a threat to the world peace than anything else.

Invasion??? As if we don’t know that Bush is in Middle East for the lucrative arms deal and all other tirades are hollow pretensions. US is just trying to bury the Iraq failure by pitching the Iran nuclear issue. Iran was not and will never be a threat, no matter how hard US try to make the world accept it.

Well, I think, you don’t know this: for fools rush in where angels fear to tread and one hardly doubts Bush who has done the same twice in Iraq and Afghanistan. You are right that he’s at the end of his political carrier and perhaps, due to election want to shift public attention from Iraq to Iran, but mind you he’s left with more than 10 months for in the office… he who can threaten the world with the world war III on Russia support to Iran, he could do anything. And he’s also got a new friend in the form of Sarkozy who rhymes with him on Iran issue when gave the world option to choose between world peace and nuclear Iran… nothing goes beyond suspicion. So Mitchell don’t be too optimistic with Bush!

Hey, will someone put a leash on America. No one has any right to say anything derogatory against a nation without any solid base. When US intelligence has accepted the fact openly that Iran suspended its nuclear weapons program in 2003, how can it be a threat? Bush should be impeached for saying this, it’s a serious offense. This propaganda will have serious repercussions, isolating those who agree with it and the already tattered Middle East.

Hey Jason, don’t you read newspapers? Forget about Sarkozy, he’s too busy romancing model Carla Bruni. And as far as Iran invasion is concerned, ask this to any of US marines and you’d get the right answer. And including me, the world too is quite optimistic that Bush is over and out!

Yea, here comes the Bush hypocrisy again! no surprise! nothing new… the propagator of so called democracy and peace is there to achieve it by pouring weapons worth billion dollars. hah disgusting… this is not a question worth asking, we all know him for the past seven years… there is only one way that peace will be back in the Mideast – get Bush and his troops out of the middle east.

Why is Iran a threat to the world peace, only because of its nuclear program! Why should Iran eschew the nuclear enrichment is a question worth million dollar. Is the nuclear energy the soul prerogative of those a few and others can’t have it simply because it can pose a threat to their monopoly and hegemony that comes with it? Is US a God to decide what should and what shouldn’t go in the world? Who gave it the right to intervene in affairs of sovereign nations? US has no moral right to talk – after unsettling Iraq and Afghanistan and vital destruction for which US is responsible – to talk about freedom and human rights.

No, it is nothing like that. There is nothing concerned to peace or to Iran either. Bush is enjoying himself at the end of his political carrier. And here even this catapulting is no more veiled though. Yes, he is there to ensure US interests, for oil is too lucrative people. Furthermore, he is fatigued now, so is his army. He’s shirking to take his troops out of Iraq just because he has the option to defer the decision on the next president, nothing else and useless to take it too seriously.

Nobody knows better than Bush how to make money from war. And we’re all dumb haranguing here while he’s minting billions of dollars. With world oil reserves are on the verge of going nil, Iraq was the obvious choice and reason enough to go for war and stabilize the economy. One can’t even imagine how much money America makes by controlling oil reserves in the Middle East countries. Also, what we most of the time miss out is the depleting value of dollar and refusal of oil trading companies in the Middle East to deal dollar and prefer Petro-Euro instead. Now Euro’s stronger purchasing power would drive oil prices and cause huge losses in trade. However, things took a different shape altogether in Iraq, so what next? Obviously, Iran! So, nobody know, war is imminent – America needs oil, which demands blood!

I wonder if there will be any history in a few years from now with this type of momentum. We will wait a few million years for some aliens to analyze our fossils or in any case most of us somehow survives the WWIII, we will be fighting a WWIV with sticks and stones.

US’s make world believe policy that Iran is a threat to the world peace is nothing but yes a propaganda to seize the energy resources. US attacked Iraq only for oil and not to free it from Saddam regime and at that moment time Al-Queda was the agenda but in case of Iran it’s its nuclear enrichment. Is there no one who could Stop the damn US to spoil World peace. UN, EU… no one? How long this wretched dace will go on with humanity in Iraq or Afghanistan? It is the right time to rein in US to make Iran next Iraq but before it gets too late to cry over the spilt milk.

Is there any doubt? Bush is a religious fanatic, had been drinking Christianity for a high just as the mullahs and the Osamas are smoking Islam for a high.

Bush gave up boozing decades back, but has turned to be a radical since then. Bush has more and bigger bombs than the mullahs of Iran or the 2-in-C of Islam after Muhammad, Osama bin Laden.

For Iraq it was the excuse of WMD for his famed ’crusade’ against the terrorists’ jehad. The only unfinished business for him is to bomb Iran to stone age.

Not that I support Bush’s madness and crusade, but definitely would like to see the barbaric regime of Iran obliterated.

The morons in the Bush administration don't even know the difference between Sunni and Shia Muslims, and have been trying to make it appear as if Iran (which is Shia) has been harboring Al Qaeda (strictly Sunni; they consider Shia Muslims apostates, and killed many of them in Iraq's recent and ongoing civil war). The sad thing is, not only is the dumb-ass American public (thats us) buying into this (because it's easier to be afraid than to carefully think things through), but our congress, which has as part of its duty the role of informed decision making, is also buying into this load of crap.

I’d say America needs help, specially this man Bush. The day is not far when crumbling America will be confronting the deadliest threat – American Masses. America should worry about its health care rather than Iran or some other country’s nuclear program. What about illegal immigration? What about my tax money he squandering? No one gives a damn to Iranophobia or other phobia terms media is trying to coin. America can’t go to war right now and if it goes, the revolt by US troops is the last thing we’ll witness.

One comment from India says it is unfinished business of Bush to bomb Iran. It is not just unfinished job for Bush. It was job not done for past American administrations and will remain unfinished business for future governments. This will continue as long as Islam is there on earth. It will be impossible to finish Islam ever, so the excuse will remain for the Americans to fight more future wars.

Iran considers India as close friend. It is disappointing to see something extremely offensive said about Iranian government and bombing Iranians by an Indian. This anti-Islam and anti-Iran sentiments from like-minded countries like India will prove to be extremely dangerous for world peace in the future. No one talks about Israeli barbarism against poor Palestinians. We need support from countries like India for what is right and do whatever possible to stop this Satan called America from continuing its madness.

Very bad, very bad :(

A very pertinent point has been brought out by Paula. Declaring 2008 as potato year, UN has been a real couch potato on this one, is that what it is for in the world? Since when has USA become the moral police to go ahead and invade a country with no opposition? It cannot take to war, Bush has neither the support nor the resources! Though it would be charming to see the downfall of Iran Govt, is that the way we want it to happen and reinforce America’s view of itself as a global troubleshooter? A publicity stunt or a real-time warning, whatever it is, Bush is sure to go down the pages of history as the ungodliest of leaders and an initiator of downfall of USA as a super power, which just defeats his intentions in the first place. He is the modern day Hitler with his perpetual grudge against Islam, the then Judaism.

@Paula:

Have the rechristening of United Nations Organization (UNO) to United States’ Organization (USO) escaped your notice? Haven’t you heard George Bush’s speech in the UN General Assembly prior to the Iraq invasion when he said it will become as irrelevant as the League of Nations unless (not in so many words) it doesn’t follow the US line? Check it out.

actually bush does not need to create a phobia for international support to go into war with iran. he is mad enough. he is just giving his own mad logic why he is going to war against iran. but hey! will there be a war at all? with so little time left for bush to be in office, it is hardly unlikely.

Iran is a very dangerous country that is trying to build nuclear bombs only with the sole purpose of attacking Israel and wiping the country. In doing that it is also ensuring that Israel attacks Iran starting a great war with possible complete destruction of the Middle East. Iran must be stopped at any cost and war is the only option to finish off the radical heads. The US is preparing for selective attacks on Iran with the objective to disable Iran of its nuclear capabilities.

I don't understand why there are so many opposing voices to the idea of an US invasion in Iran. It is the only country in the world who has an enhanced military power and developing nuclear weapons that is headed by radical Islamic clerics. With every passing day, Israel is getting more and more concerned. Just imagine if we didn't bomb Saddam's nuclear facility in Osirak in 1981. Saddam would have had nuclear weapons by the time he invaded Kuwait and Kuwait could never have been liberated. With so much oil under his control and nuclear weapons a brutal dictator would have become a major world leader. Israel would have been attacked and destroyed as well.

It was Iraq then, it is Iran now. A nuclear armed Iran is not desired by even Arab nations. It will be a threat to them as well.
